For sustained professional development courses, if two sessions are missed without prior notification, your place will be revoked.

From Scribbles to Sentences

 

From Scribbles to Sentences is a highly practical course with numerous hands-on ideas and simple suggestions that you can implement immediately. Attendees will join in with activities and stories to inspire and develop prewriting skills at every stage. There’ll be time to share ideas with colleagues, reflect on next steps and tap into the experience of an expert. Essential subject knowledge is paired with lots of active learning for a truly memorable experience, with great impact!

This new programme of medium level support brings together the extensive experience of HFL and the English Hub network with the ultimate aim of equipping teachers with the knowledge and skills required to improve fluency and comprehension for their pupils.

Free CPD training course for teaching assistants: reading practice in KS1 and EYFS
 
These CPD resources will help you to support your teaching assistants in EYFS and Key Stage 1 to strengthen excellence in early reading pedagogy.
 
They were developed with industry experts, including Michael Rosen, Lucy Rowland, Chip Colquhoun and Professor Sarah McGeown and focus on nurturing the joys and wellbeing benefits of reading and helping TAs overcome common barriers to reading in settings.

 

Each module provides video content, links to supporting materials and an optional assignment, offering evidence informed strategies and practical techniques to foster a love of reading, build early literacy skills and highlight the wider benefits of reading for children.The training is delivered through a clear sequence of modules.
